Тавсиф

Turn it around project is a globally recognized initiative launched in 2021 that enhanced the voices of children and young people in their vision of the future of education in the context of climate change and sustainable development. In Central Asia, the thematic flashcards created by young people (children and youth from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan) combine original artwork and short texts that express their perspectives, concerns, and ideas related to climate, environment, and human security. These cards serve both as an educational tool and as a policy dialogue instrument, enabling meaningful engagement between learners, educators, and decision-makers.

Participants from Tajikistan made a particularly valuable contribution to this process. The resulting Central Asian Climate Flashcards Deck has been published in six languages, including Tajik, and is intended for use as additional education tool by schools, higher education institutions, teacher training programmes, and education policy stakeholders.

The presentation is going to be in partnership with the Republican Center for Institutions of Supplementary Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the participation of UNESCO Almaty Regional Office and CAPS Unlock. The event will introduce the concept of the cards, demonstrate their practical application in additional education, and facilitate dialogue on their relevance to national education priorities, including climate education and youth engagement.
