Donor Coordination Council Meeting on the Education Sector in the Republic of Tajikistan

A meeting of the Donor Coordination Council brought together key development partners to discuss coordination priorities and next steps in support of education sector reforms in Tajikistan.

The meeting was jointly organized with the support of the European Union Delegation to Tajikistan and UNICEF. Opening remarks were delivered by Ms. Isabel Uriz - Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Tajikistan, and Ms. Eri Dwivedi - Deputy Representative of UNICEF Tajikistan.

Participants reviewed the follow-up actions agreed during the previous DCC meeting held in November 2025 and discussed the role and mandate of the Donor Coordination Council in the context of education sector reform. Particular attention was given to defining the added value of the DCC, its relationship with the Local Education Group, and the development of key advocacy messages addressed to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.

A dedicated session focused on strengthening the sector coordination function of the Ministry of Education and Science. Participants were presented with the findings of the Performance Survey on the Coordination and Analytical Unit under the MoES, as well as the DCC’s vision of the role of the Local Education Group under the leadership of the Ministry.
