Goal

Supporting effective planning and delivery of school connectivity.

Description

UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) joined forces to create Giga in 2019: a global initiative to connect every school to the Internet by 2030.

Support to map the location of schools and monitor school connectivity status in real-time.

Support to guide the contractual and procurement process for school connectivity (e.g., assess past procurement processes to identify areas of opportunity for efficiencies in school connectivity procurement; develop a school connectivity procurement plan and identify areas where interventions to improve market access can help improve transparency and reduce costs; adapt the Global School Connectivity Procurement Toolkit: REOI/RFI, ToRs, RFP, LTAs and sample contracts to the needs and context).

Support for the convening and governance of all relevant stakeholders in relation to school connectivity.
