National Digital Library (e-library)

Development of National Digital Library of materials for education professionals for improving the efficacy of the competency-based curriculum rollout within the IsDB/GPE project for support to implementation of the National Education Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Digital Library provides easy access to and works with the electronic versions of education resources, textbooks, documents, multi-media content like audio and video etc. This library meets the needs of teaching and learning and identifies issues for continued development. It allows teachers and students to use information resources and tools that have traditionally been physically and conceptually inaccessible. This e-library allows comfortable and friendly remote access, breaking down the physical barriers between resources and needs. Although these resources remain specialized to meet the needs of specific communities of learners, digital library allows teachers and students to take advantage of wider range of materials and communicate with people outside the formal learning environment.

National Digital Library (e-library) is being developed jointly with the Republican Center for Information Technology and Communication (RCITC) under MoES to provide easy access to and work with the electronic versions of education resources, textbooks, documents, multi-media content supported in variety of formats like audio, video, Epub and PDF via web and Android apps. The e-library is going to meet the needs of teaching and learning and identifies issues for continued development. It allows teachers and students to use information resources and tools that have traditionally been physically and conceptually inaccessible. The e-library web-based application is referencing other UNICEF Tajikistan digital solutions introduced to the MoES. The specialized e-resources available within the e-library meet the needs of specific communities of learners. The e-library allows teachers and students to take advantage of wider ranges of materials and communicate with people outside the formal learning environment.
