The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan decided to participate in the PISA 2025 study as part of the implementation of the National Education Development Strategy up to 2030.
The European Union–funded project “Support for the Education and Employment Sectors of the Republic of Tajikistan” provides financial and technical support at all stages of participation in PISA during 2023–2025.
The National Testing Center (NTC) serves as the national operator responsible for implementing PISA 2025. The assessment study is conducted in cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Paris, with technical support from the Australian consulting company ACER.
The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), coordinated by the OECD, is one of the most authoritative international studies of student academic achievement worldwide. As part of the preparatory phase, a Capacity Needs Assessment was conducted to ensure effective implementation of the study.

The PISA Field Trial was successfully conducted in May 2024. In 2025, Tajikistan participated in PISA 2025 for the first time, marking an important step toward improving the quality, relevance, and international comparability of the national education system.
